Photonic Therapy

What is photonic therapy?

Photonic therapy is an alternative therapy which uses red light to stimulate certain area of skin where nerve endings accumulate.

This area is located 0.5 to 1cm under the surface of the skin. Red light, with 660 nm wavelength, is able to penetrate the skin to stimulate the area to regulate the body system, resulting in enhancement of the healing process as well as controlling pain and inflammation.

Photonic therapy is safe and painless and results in acceptable, comfortable treatment for the patient.

How often does photonic therapy need to be performed?

It is better to perform photonic therapy once a week for the first couple of weeks then the duration between sessions can be increased once a patient’s condition improves.

Before and after photonic therapy.

It is recommended that patients who have photonic therapy do not consume a large meal 2 hours before and after the session as the body systems work hard during and after the treatment. Also for this reason, it is advised that no strenuous exercise is under taken 2 hours before and after the treatment. Some patients can feel quite tired after the session and sleep longer than usual.

Canine Myofunctional therapy

Canine Myofunctional Therapy (CMT) is one modality of massage with stretching.

It is significantly important to maintain or to improve the conditon of muscles and joint motion when we manage musculoskeltal issues ,such as arthritis and cruciate ligament injury.

If any musclar tension or wastage, and reduced range of motion of joints are detected during an assessment, myofunctional therapy will be added to photonic therapy to obtain better result.

Hisae studied Canine Myofunctional Therapy and obtained a certificate in Melbourne in 2013 and has performed it in Australia and Japan since then.
